What you need is a good “Dead-knife!”

I have seen LOTS of doors with dead-bolts.

I have seen LOTS of doors with no dead-bolts at all.

This house most certainly is the first and only house I have ever seen with a dead-knife.

It seems a little less than user friendly—but what do I know.

I really don’t think it is going to "cut it" as far as starting a new trend in home security—but what do I know.

I think the door trim is going to end up on the kitchen floor—but what do I know.

Charles, that is a door lock with an edge to it!

Perhaps the owner has watched THE SHINING lots of times and is keeping it handy when Jack Nicholson shows up saying, "Here's Johnny!"

Hi Charles,

Just by the picture the home looks like it has some issues.

Maybe start with a deadbolt that really works and then move forward from there.

Too Funny. Enjoy the day in the Seattle area. happy Holidays my friend.

Best, Clint McKie

Bruce, it is cutting edge technology for sure.

Clint, yes, the house had lots of issues of which the knife is not going butter up at all.

Charles, perhaps this is a new cutting edge lock!

Once you get in the home it will slide down a slippery sloop of butter to take care of other issues.

I look forward to hearing about the final outcome of this one.

Just another day in the life of an inspector!

Merry Christmas

Barbara, I am afraid this is the whole story as far as I am concerned--no clue what will happen with the knife--may still be there for all I know

Well isn't that an interesting way to lock up.  Not my idea of the correct way!

Marc, everyone has one though---pretty cheap

Imaginative, but hmmmm.... I'm with Dick, brass and silver? :O) I can't help but think if someone knocked the door open that knife is going to fly and spin itself across the room!
