Perhaps they just liked blue!

Perhaps they just liked blue!

Baby blue at that.

Home inspectors notice the darndest things.  There is no stopping us, in fact, we can’t even stop ourselves.  Now most of the time, noticing things is a good thing---in terms of reducing the risk of missing things that do matter.

Other times it seems to result in a lot of mind clutter not unlike those people that always win Trivial Pursuit or who fill in the question long before Alex Trebek even finishes reading the answer.

So take a look at this matched set of baby blue appliances.

Baby Blue WasherBaby Blue Dryer

One would think that over the course of the 11 year life of these appliances that someone would have noticed the blue peels off.

But then again---perhaps they just like blue.

LOL  unless they are folks who had plastic covers over their furniture to protect it!    My husband's microwave button screen was looking so banged up...and it was only a year or so old....I got to looking and it wasn't banged up...the blue plastic covering was what was getting all banged up!!!  LOL

Do they come in pink as well? I recently found some peel off plastic on my new-ish computer. Oy.

Cute!  I'm glad it's not just me!  I notice these ALL THE TIME still on appliances and it always makes me scratch my head!

Charles - I've seen the same thing many times. Makes one wonder if folks are just oblivious to the "unusual" look or if they just don't care.

Deborah, that is another place they get left on as well

Cynthia, only the his and hers versions :)

Virginia, I think most people don't know it is on there---they bought it blue so think it is supposed to be blue

John, perhaps the latter.

I have been noticing the blue plastic more and more in recent years. I always ask how old the washer/dryer is when I see this. They are never new =]

Oh that is funny.  I think my dad had one of those stickers on his cell phone for a while.  crazy.

That's way too funny!  Did they really not notice that the blue peels off?  Or maybe, like you suggested, they just like blue.

I know a real estate agent that kept the protective plastic on the cover of her camera for at least a year after getting her camera.  It drove me absolutely nuts.

Paul, I see this blue wrap on all ages of washers---the new one I bought just a year ago had it---but I peeled it off :)

Debbie, it took me a while to figure out my Net Book had one on it :)

Kimm, I hope it was because they liked it

Reuben, I would sneak over and peel it off :)  Another common place these protective wraps don't get removed is on the strikes of door latches.

That's funny...from the comments, this is more common than I would of thought. My sister in law still has the plastic cover on her two year old smart phone. I'm the type to be pulling that stuff off on the way out of the store/or box.

You're right about that!  I see the plastic cover all the time!  I wonder if people don't think that is the actual color of the appliance!

Chahhlie, were there plastic covers on the furniture too? That sounds like my husband. He'd leave all that stuff on as long as possible to avoid scratches etc. Too funny.

Curtis, I am the same way

Jay, I think in some instances that must be the case

Peg---looks like new when it finally makes the Good Will :)

LOL, that's sooooo funny! I think some people just put a plastic cover on it, then it looks like very old! Thanks for sharing this cute and funny article with us.

Have a good day Charles!

Dear Charles -

Yellow star Atlanta Metro ODAT Realty CDPE Advanced Buy Lease Sell Buckhead Atlanta GAJust wanted to say Happy Birthday for your special occasion on March 6th. Other than the incomprehensible Medicare that must be read - 65 has been great!

Have a happy day - Lynn

PS I do leave the plastic on all the W/D units in all the rentals that I manage. And, no, I don't have plastic slipcovers on my furniture. You can easily see the evidence of five now-grown children and the new wave of furniture testing grandchildren on everything! L.
