Why is there a fire truck in my driveway?

We all get too many emails.

Of course with the recent activerain issues I have not been getting nearly as many as I used to.  I would love to see that issue resolved, as I think that it really interferes with the normal “conversations” on our blogs that we have all grown accustomed to.

But that is a whole other issue and I hope that activerain is working hard to resolve it.

For those of us that buy things---and who is not among that group---there is one email that we should all be getting.

We should all, as consumers, subscribe to the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s email list for notifications about product recalls.

Just today I got a notice about a recall of more than 4 million box type household fans that have caused several house fires.

How else is one going to find out about these recalls?

Certainly when the fire trucks come to a screeching halt in ones driveway, it is likely too late!

So SUBSCRIBE TODAY ---it is an email you should not be without.

If you are a consumer that is.

Charles - Great advice for consumers.  It's sometimes interesting to scan their website to see the potentially hazardous issues we face.

Mr. Charles, yes indeed it would be far to late to find out about the recall because of a firetruck in your driveway.... :D

Sounds like some good information there, gonna do it. Would hate for something bad to happen before knowing something was recalled. They do not recall the products that are okay to have and use.

Paul, yes---this is one email we should all be getting

Robert, you are welcome

Ann, I think if more people subscribed to these email the word about dangerous products would travel faster

Don, thanks

Brian, I will have to check their widget out

Shannon, thanks---glad to have you stop by

John, can you imagine working there :)

Andrea, yup :)

Tom, and except for "exceptionally" dangerous things most recalls won't make the five o'clock news.

I am signed up to get two different CPSC recall notices - household stuff and (new grandchild) toys.  It is frightening what comes across every day!

Mr Charles,

I am thinking that we should now announce to the world that I am buying into your firm and we shall be 50/50 partners in Buell/Wallenda Inspectors. We can let the cat out of the bag.

Hi Charles, Thanks! I've checked with CPSC every week or so for updates on the Chinese Drywall issues, but never subscribed. As of today, I'm subscribed :) Thanks, jay
