When we were born we were pure experiencing machines. At some point we realized that some of this accumulated knowledge might be useful to others. I think this is why I like teaching so much-----and why I like blogging so much. The older I get, the more I realize how little time there is to give away everything I’ve learned. Money and personal possessions are not the only things that we cannot take with us when we go. An odd side effect of giving away what we have learned is the contradictory effect of creating room for learning something new-----and we get to be child-like again. Giving ourselves away also uncovers layers of stuff we have forgotten and we get to re-experience hidden parts of ourselves----before we give that away as well. The notion that we “lose” something when we give it away is nothing more than an illusion. Charles Buell
We grew and learned every day----literal sponges of the environments we grew up in. Sometimes we soaked up good information and sometimes we soaked up misinformation and even disinformation. Of course there were lots of soaked diapers along the way. We became brainwashed, religious fanatics, rocket scientists----even real estate agents and home inspectors. We learned from our parents, our siblings, and our teachers. We graduated from college and had jobs, careers and many other life experiences that added to our wealth of knowledge.

Charles it is snowing in May in Salt Lake City, What't that all about? Yuck.
You are so right, experience breeds intelligence and sharing it bring wealth to others.
Ellen
Charles,
Sounds like you are a wise man Charles!
Marty, I am not sure----but one thing is for sure it must be cold enough :)
Ellen, and oneself.
Lori, mostly just a wise-guy :)
Charles- That is quite a bit of thought for a Monday morning!
However and whenever we can give back, rewards will follow.
Charles, that is probably the best blog post I have ever read of yours. It is so true and inspirational at the same time. I have read other posts of yours that have made me smile, laugh, and learn but for some reason this touched a chord. Thank you...
Duane, one just never know when the mind is going to go out of control
Glenn----seems so
Paul, thanks---glad you liked it. (Now----will you hurry up and go by me already :)
Mr Charles,
I am happy to say that I think I have learned about all that you knows and I am now your pear in this field.
Nutsy
Charles, I think that is the reason I enjoy blogging too. I get a chance to share things I've found along the way. And I'm so glad others enjoy sharing - since the flip side is getting to hear about other's experiences too.
Nutsy, Pear glazed Squirrel----sounds yummy
Susan, for sure----even as adults it is important to stay "experience machines."
Mr Charles,
I am very glad to be as good a pee-er who comares to you.
Nutsy
I never heard or maybe never paid attention to the saying about losing something by giving. The concept is totally ludicrous. It's like listening to a speech as compared to having a conversation. Both are communicating a message, but a conversation is give and take. Knowledge can be imparted and new ideas formed. discoveries can be found in the course of conversation. Not likely to happen with a one sided speech.
Nutsy, you take being dumb as a bag of hammers to a whole new level
Jim, I sure hate one way conversations----always better when you can get someone to help :)
Charles, you are sounding very profound today! Sharing our knowledge and learning from others keeps us young.
Maria, especially if we can get anyone to listen :)
Great stuff Charlie! Education is worth nothing if it is not shared.
"And in the end, the love we take, is equal to the love we make." McCartney
Wring away Charles, I enjoy reading everything that you write about.
Jay, sometimes it seem as if the hordes like to hoard information :)
Troy, I am ringing, wringing----what's that wringing in my ear?
Charles, Your wisdom has no boundaries. I can honestly say, I have benefited in my life from the knowledge you have shared, Thank you.
Curtis, thanks, and I from yours
