A very nice Mountain in Hawaii asked the question, “What was life like before activerain?" Those brain cells have long since disappeared into a rainyfog of endless blog posts and comments both directed at other rainaddict’s posts and responding to those that have been nice (or weird) enough to comment on my posts. Wringing out the grey matter----looking for one more word to pound relentlessly into the keyboard----is all that remains of what was once a respected, useful, optimistic human being. (I used to be different and now I'm the same.) And what is the point! POINTS? Who said that? NOW I remember----the points. Where would we be without po↑nts? Oblio---help me out here please! As we inch forward at a snails pace up a mysteriousmountain of points, we get an endless view of the more than 162,114 other mountains around us----some taller-----MANY shorter----all we can do is marvel at the view----each mountain making a color all its own----like a great carpet of fall colors. And chuckle, And smile to ourselves----all the way to the bank! Charles Buell
While this may sound like a straightforward enough question, the problem is----that I can not remember! Come on now, get a grip---was there really life before activerain? How can that be? I am now a mere shell of my former self, with nothing better to do than to find something to fill that shell up----and empty it again in an endless stream of consciousness----like a river of chocolate lava from a volcano. Of course there is no shortage of flavored fillings to gorge on here at activerain!

Hi Charles: Nice blog post - I guess the only thing that is certain is change.

What a great picture of the beach, Charles. I love the way the fog shrouds the hills.
Matt---seems like it
Marcy, thanks---nothing like the Washington (and Oregon:) coast!
Very creative Charles! A breakdown of what you did....and what the rewards are :)
Thanks Sally
Mr Charles,
If there is anyone at all in the AR community who has a sharp, pointy head --- that would be Mr Charles.
Nutsy
Is there a contest? Are you entering with this pretty blog. I swear you are doing some pretty blogs. If I ever have time I'm going to try to learn all that pretty stuff! If it is a contest, good luck.
Barbara, yes---the post is for a contest, here is the link----check it out you still have time:)
P.A.W.S. CONTEST: Life BEFORE ActiveRain...and NOW
Happy Friday Charles, I can always count on you for a smile and great pics:) I am the snail up there a year and a half and i just broke 25K, (not joking i'm not in it for the points, I just like participating)you are an inspiration.
Thanks Ana----if you just keep having fun the points just happen---the turtle always wins:)
Hi Charles,
I think for many us, it is a real challenge to remember where our lives were before the RAIN . For some, even now, it is not clear where all this will lead. But we go on, faithfully discharging the words and photos into posts to express the who, what, when and where of ourselves as it might be of interest to others.
I loved your proseic words and I think they express the feelings about being in the RAIN , that so many of have . " I am now a mere shell of my former self, with nothing better to do than to find something to fill that shell up----and empty it again in an endless stream of consciousness----like a river of chocolate lava from a volcano.
William---if we are totally "in the present"----the future will take care of it self.
I had no idea there was a contest!
Now that I do (thank you Charles), I'm going to have to share my 2 cents worth!
Sounds like another socio-polligious agenda to me...
Mr Charles,
This is incomplete. You have said more than once that the highlight of your AR life was meeting me so you would have a knowledgeable consultant to consult when you want to consult.
Nutsy
I think sometimes it is hard for many of us to remember who we were before this whole thing started my friend.
Craig---so did you enter---will have to go see.
Jay, absolutely
Nutsy, you are being dillusional again----make a mental note of this
JL, so true
