A while back someone made a comment on one of my posts that I could, “turn anything into a blog post.” Today’s post is at attempt to test that concept a bit. “Coffee Cups.” You read that right. I want to know if you----like me----have a favorite coffee cup. Like me, you probably have a lot of coffee cups to choose from in your cupboard, and most of us have one particular cup we choose when you just have to have the right one in those times of “crisis” or when you want the “mood” to be just right. You have brewed that perfect cup of coffee or tea and there is ONLY one particular cup that is worthy. Would you fess-up to it in public, if what I am saying is true? Sometimes different occasions call for different cups as well. For example when I am getting caffeinated on the way to a soccer game I usually pick a “soccer cup.” When I am thinking about my grandchildren (and in this case my granddaughter) I like this one: But all around, my favorite is this one: This is the one that I will actually mourn the day the handle falls off---or worse yet breaks (I would never think of discarding it just because the handle fell off). The thing that makes this cup special is that I have no clue why it is special----all the others have great reasons---this one just touches something unknown----a reason all its own. So what does yours look like? Charles Buell Seattle Home Inspectors, Charles Buell Inspections Inc, Seattle, WA

I like to live with a lot of colorful things around me, but my favorite coffee (in my case black tea) cup is a very simple shape and warm gray in color. Let the smell and flavor of the brew fill my senses! (yes you can write a blog about anything)
I will admit it...my favorite coffee cup has a Boston Terrier on it!
Sara, interesting that your favorite cup is "neutral" in a colorful life.
Gary, I wonder if most people's favorite cups have pictures of things on them.
James I had no idea you were a hog rider----you should get a Buell:)
Your name always reminds of those bikes. I have a Sportster which is what a Buell is with a different frame and a souped up motor. My wife just got a bike too.
I have many favorites depending on what is going on. I have my lucky cup, my super lucky cup, my focus cup (helps me focus), my production cup, my weekend cup, etc. Most are Seahawks cups, some bought at the stadium, others gifts. Though I've been in Nevada for over 30 years I am from Seattle. My personal special cup is a black travel mug with a gold REI symbol - was one of the last 3 in stock when they built the new store. Each cup has memories and power and my day can be predicted by my cup. My wife just delivered my coffee and the cup is ... a Seahawk cup that I got at the stadium when I took my two sons to a game. This cup always creates escrows. I'm selling something today ... its in the cups!
You really can make a blog post about anything, Charles. Congrats. Unfortunately, I can't participate in this one because (gasp!) I don't drink coffee. But, my husband is a caffeine FIEND and had a favorite coffee cup that he did mourn when it broke. It was the face of Ursulla the sea hag from the Little Mermaid. Her face was the part of the mug that hel the coffe and the handle was one of her tentacles (she was an octopus, if you didn't know). He was so depressed when it broke in one of our moves. And, by the time he broke it, we were unable to replace it exactly. He had to settle for a similar one we found on E-Bay.
James----are you still allowed to not wear helmets there?
Jim, I KNEW someone would really fess-up to the improtance of cups:)
Heather, tell him to hang in there----it is not like a woman where there is ONLY ONE RIGHT ONE:) Also tea counts.
I don't have a favorite mug, but my husband has his "Harley Dude" mug. I have a preference when using a coffee cup. I like a good size cup with a substantial handle, not a petite china cup. I, being a organization freak, don't like a cabinet full of mismatched coffee cups. We have two sets of matching cups and hubby's Harley mug...
No helmets required. We had a law back in the 70s, but it was repealed.
Here's our favorite coffee cup. Yes, my husband and I have favorite matching morning coffee mugs. Our second oldest daughter gave us these years ago so that we could stop getting up from the breakfast table to get refills. Worked out well, we only need to refill once now.
Charles...
Whenever I go to a pottery shop, I always buy one handmade cup .... I have quite a collection, but deep greens and blues are my favorites!
Sharon, I am the opposite----I don't think we own any two cups that are alike:)
James, I hope you wear one anyway----I saw a badly smashed pumpkin once---not a pretty sight.
Suesan, cool
Richard, generally those would be my colors as well adding more mystery to my favorite cup---well it does have some blue.
Charlie I think that for every drink there is the right bowl shape that adds to the flavor. Not only do I have a favorite coffee cup, which is large so I only need one - (first one is always the best anyway...), I also have a favorite tea cup, wine glass and water goblet.
I am picky about the size of the cup because it controlls the temp of the coffee depending on how long it takes you to drink it. You have to find the right fit for the time it personally takes you to drink your coffee with the temperature you prefer-Dinah Lee
Charles you can blog about ANYTHING. That is the fun in it! Later today I will be sharing about the Civil War reenactment that went on up in Port Gamble. It was awesome!-
Theresa, I bet most people do
Dinah---so what you are saying is that there is a "science" to it as well?:)
Maybe we should start a new MeMe. Assign people an off the wall topic and see how they can tie it into Real Estate. For instance Clients have to fit into a home just the way your favorite coffee cup fits you hand or your lifestyle-Dinah Lee
Dinah Lee, on AR there doesn't seem to be any distinction between "can" and "may":)
Also, I am no fan of MeMe's but it is an interesting idea. I dare you:) I could see it as a way to jolt people down roads they might never have thought of going.
Charlie,
And I am serious here. My everyday coffee cup was given to me by a trusted employee.
Is that his prisoner identification number?
Yes, it is. This mug has a picture of one of Nutsy's criminal cousins.
Hey Charles,
nice mug. My favorite is a wide rim with my name on it in multi-colors...it was a gift.
Only you can get a ton of comments on coffee mugs! I like small ones that don't hold very much and they are the kind that used to be used in restaurants....very heavy. I ordered them from ebay years ago.
Steve----who do you think you are trying to kid anyway?
Tony---picture, picture, picture
Barbara, I think there is something to that---in the relation to the one I like as well. Really thick walls that hold the heat and warm your hands really well when it is cold.
I love this post. I needed something "light" today.
Charles, I don't drink coffee but do like a cup of hot herbal tea when it's cold outside. I like to use as large a cup as possible, so I don't have to refill (I'm lazy).
Charlie - Although I gave up Starbucks at home for Dunkin Donuts I still enjoy Starbucks Vanilla Chai when I am in the tea mood. I LOVE the Starbucks mugs I have picked up over the years. I sweat they make my coffee at home taste so much better - even if I am brewing other brands and running on Dunkin.
Tammy, you are too funny
Regina, for tea I have one of those cups with a cover.
Carol, nice to see you----haven't seen you around the rain lately---hope that means you are busy:)
WOW, what a welcome back to blogging post- I have scheduled an hour today to catch up (acutally doing a webnair and multitasking) on what my peers are sharing. good for you, sharing your cup fetish- did you start a group too? Here's my favorite:

Cheryl, I can see why that is your favorite:)
