Chewing gum and Ferris Wheels

Recently the Seattle Great Wheel opened on the docks at the water front.  It is the latest attraction on the docks designed to promote the waterfront.

While not the engineering marvel of the Space Needle, it is still a pretty cool piece of engineering.  As one of the largest Ferris Wheels in the country, it will give the visitor a great view of Elliot Bay and the surrounding area.

I have yet to ride in the thing.  The other day at my inspection however, I felt like I could almost have stepped from the balcony right onto the wheel.

Sometimes at inspections I end up with spectacular views of the great Northwest.  This time I was lucky enough to not only have the Mountain View, Elliot Bay and the Great Wheel---but out another window I could see the famous Pike Market.

You can’t beat this place with a stick.

But you will find a place to stick your gum---at the famous Gum Wall.
