On a recent inspection I noticed a pronounced "raised" area where the electrical service bracket was attached to the roof.
It is very common to see these electrical service wires pulling the restraint brackets off the structure. These wires sometimes span long distances and can in themselves be quite heavy. Add to them a whole bunch of ice and snow and a family of squirrels and you can end up with the wire pulling away from the house----not good electrical juju. In this next picture you can see the bracket pulling loose from the side of the house.
But, lets get back to my recent inspection. As I was sorting through the possibilities of what was going on I noticed that the wire from the Utility pole was stretched as tight as a piano wire and (as you can see in the picture) the pole is leaning away from the home and the wire is acting to hold the pole up----or we have a tug o' war going on. I will place my bet on the Utility pole----and I am not prone to gambling.
